Sulphur Crested White Cockatoo
Sulphur Crested White Cockatoo
Who's a pretty bird....?
Cockatoos are crested parrots that inhabit Australian and surround continents.
These beautiful parrots grow up to 55 cm long and use their bright yellow crests on top of their heads to show that they are alarmed or angry.
They use their powerful beaks to eat berries, seeds, nuts and roots.
They also chew sticks and branches to stop their beaks from growing too long.
They are very intelligent. Known to even be able to open garbage bin lids on bin day!!!
Cheeky buggers!!!!
I really wanted to capture their personality. "Who's a pretty bird" but also "hmmmm I'm already two steps ahead of you human" !!!!
Created with just lead pencils, with a hint of watercolours and gouache paints for colour.
