Snow gums are the ultimate survivors of the Australian High Country and an iconic botanical signature of Kosciuszko National Park. Shaped by sub-zero temperatures, fierce alpine winds and heavy snowfalls, these remarkably resilient trees endure some of Australia’s harshest conditions.
Their smooth, twisting trunks shed ribbons of bark to reveal beautiful streaks of cream, grey, green and warm copper — each tree uniquely marked by the landscape it calls home.
Can you spy the local birds? A Kooka, Flame Robin and male Gang gang cockatoo?
“Remember that every sunset makes room for a new beginning.”
