Koala

It's so devastating the fires that were out of control in my homeland of Australia at the start of the year.

The amount of Koala's and wildlife that have been lost is completely catastrophic. 

After taking my children to the zoo in October I just completely fell in love with them all over again.
I took reference from my own photographs taken at Symbio Zoo, this little cutie just looked straight at me while she was just chilling in the tree and I really wanted to capture her character, her sweetness in my drawing!!!!

Koalas aren’t bears at all, they aren’t even related to Bears, although they are cute like teddy bears! They are Marsupials and related closest to Wombats as both animals have pouches that open towards the rear.
Koalas can only be found in one place in the entire world - AUSTRALIA 🇦🇺
Their numbers in the wild are at a Catastrophic level. It’s absolutely heartbreaking.

"The word 'koala' is thought to mean 'no drink' or 'no water' in the Aboriginal language and they can sleep for up to 19 hours per day "

Koalas can live for 20 or more years and can run as fast as a rabbit!!! They only eat Eucalyptus leaves and will hop from tree to tree to get them. Eating appropriately 200-500grams of leaves per day.
