Native to south-west Western Australia, Hakea laurina is best known for its striking pincushion like flowers, with deep pink to red globes & long cream-white styles. Flowering mainly through autumn and winter, its nectar rich blooms provide an important food source for native birds and insects. Like other hakeas, it belongs to the Proteaceae family and develops distinctive woody seed pods after flowering.
