Eastern Water Dragon (Intellagama lesueurii).
The Eastern Water Dragon lives along Australia’s east coast, from northern QLD to southern NSW. These semi-aquatic lizards prefer waterways with tree cover for basking and are excellent swimmers, able to stay underwater for long periods. They are omnivores, can run on their back legs, climb with sharp claws, and use their tongues to grab food. They live in groups with a dominant male, and can even sleep partly submerged, camouflaged with only their nostrils exposed.
