Here we have a little family of Greater Bilbies with a native plant called Bonnie Bilby (Hardenbergia violacea).
Bilbies are extremely rare, nocturnal, and shy. As with many other native mammals, their range across Australia has dramatically shrunk.
Their relative -The Lesser Bilby is now extinct.
They don't need to drink, as they get all of the water they need from their food.
Bilbies weigh up to 2.5kg, females weighing less. Their hearing and strong sense of smell are very important for the Bilby when finding food and detecting predators.
There are many reasons we need to safeguard the beautiful Bilby from increasing threats.
