Cockatiel's are native to Australia.
They are cheerful, sociable, little whistlers that can live to over 20yrs old.
They are almost always found near water. Cockatiels are the smallest bird to have a head crest and they mate for life.
Males tends to be more loving and nurturing of their young than the females! Sounds like he is quite the catch!
This illustration was originally drawn as a pet portrait - "Bill the Cockatiel".
But i fell in love with him and just had to add him to my Australian collection.
