Azure Kingfisher (Ceyx azureus)
Found across northern and eastern Australia, one of Australia’s most dazzling tiny birds! With deep blue feathers and bright orange belly. Kingfishers are expert hunters, diving straight into creeks and rivers to snatch fish, insects (even green tree frogs). They’re a significant symbol connected to the importance of waterways and land, acting as a messenger and guardian of sacred places. Embodying qualities like patience, precision, and intuition.
